Tooth Veneers

Tooth veneers also called “porcelain laminate veneers” or “ veneers,” are little shells of ceramic material cemented onto your natural tooth. Veneers are used to restore the shape, and color of your natural teeth. For example, when chipping, staining, or misalignments have negatively influenced the appearance of your smile.

A dental veneer is different than a dental crown. Veneers only cover the front surface of the tooth. Whereas a crown covers your entire tooth. Dental restoratives, like veneers, are held in place using adhesive cement.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers work best when you have enough enamel remaining on the tooth for a strong bond. In cases of severely damaged, worn, or cracked teeth, it is preferable to use a crown instead. When properly used, tooth veneers give you a bright, white smile with beautifully aligned, straight teeth. We use several different types of ceramics to fabricate your veneers. Dr. Dhawan uses a wide variety of techniques for attaining the optimal outcome.

Dr. Dhawan has specifically trained to understand the nuances of veneer design and fabrication. Dr. Dhawan uses both the clinical and the laboratory perspective. Dr. Dhawan also spent a significant portion of his three-year residency studying the art and science of improving the look of your smile. Similarly known as dental aesthetics or dental cosmetics.

Like other dental restorations (crown, bridge, implant, etc.), dental veneers require proper cleaning and maintenance after placement. Daily brushing and flossing, in addition to yearly check-ups, are the best way to ensure that your veneers stay beautiful for years to come.
