Denvers Denture Specialist
Dentures have been around for many years and are still a reasonable option for many patients. A well-made Denture can give years of service. A Prosthodontist’s education focuses on the advanced techniques and skills needed for quality denture fabrication.
Dentures are prosthetic devices assembled to restore missing teeth, and are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the mouth. Conventional dentures are removable.
As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Dhawan enjoys the treatment of missing teeth with dentures. He has experience treating cases that are straightforward to very complex. While addressing fit, comfort, and esthetics, Dr. Dhawan understands that each patient needs a different level of support, which he and his staff can accommodate.
Dr. Dhawan is involved in clinical and laboratory aspects of each denture made in the office. Much of the work is done in his laboratory. With his level of support, experience, and hands-on care, we assure you that your denture treatment will offer pleasing results.
Getting Comfortable with Your Dentures Like anything new in our lives, takes time. You have an entirely new object in your mouth; a mouth full of new teeth, where you may have had very few teeth remaining prior to being fitted for your dentures. It stands to reason there will be an adjustment period.
Here are a few things to remember about adjusting to your new dentures:
Your new upper dentures (top ones) will be easier to get used to than the lower dentures. The upper dentures are near enough to your palate (the roof of your mouth) that you can use suction to help keep them in place. This will help to form a seal around the rim of your new dentures, fixing them more securely than your new lower. Your lower dentures will take more time to seat comfortably and securely. Your lower denture sits on the ridge of your jawbone, meaning there is little to hold them down tight. Custom fitted dentures will fit far better and will be easier to wear right from the beginning.
Dr. Dhawan and staff at The Colorado Center for Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry are available to help you determine effective solutions to all your dental problems. If you would like more information from your Centennial area Prosthodontist, please call to make an appointment today.
