Denvers Partial Denture Specialist
A partial denture is a denture for someone who is partially edentulous who desires to have replacement teeth for efficient or aesthetic reasons who chooses not to do a bridge or is unable to have a bridge. Some examples are lacking required teeth to support a bridge or financial limitations.
If you are missing teeth, the pressure of your bite shifts in your mouth. Opposing and adjacent teeth can move to compensate for the extra space in your bite. This often is the cause of shrinking both the soft tissues and bone near your missing teeth. A partial denture protects the structures of your mouth including your jawbone, gums, and facial muscles. A partial Denture can slow or stop shifting of adjacent teeth in your mouth, while providing you the confidence of having a complete and functional smile.
Getting comfortable with your partial denture like anything new in our lives, can take time. You have an entirely new object in your mouth; a mouth full of new teeth, where you may have had very few teeth remaining prior to being fitted for your partial denture. It stands to reason there will be an adjustment period.
